KBC BLACKBALL SINGLES TOURNAMENT
Tournament format options 1 & 2 for a '12 player' competition.
Formats are based on average match times of 45 minutes, with data received from the first tournament.
Option No.1 - ALL MATCHES RACE TO 4
x2 groups of 6 players - play each other once
12 players each guaranteed 5 group matches.
Estimated group stage finish @ 8pm (8 players eliminated)
Top 2 from each group advance to semi finals.*
4 players to play semi’s, final and 3rd place play off.
Estimated finish time @ 10pm.

*In the event of players finishing on level points in the group stage, the players going through will be determined by frame differences and then clearances.
If still all level, a red 6 ball shoot-out will be played, with the quickest player to clear 6 balls to advance to the KO stages.
Option No.2
x3 groups of 4 players - play each other once, race to 4.
12 players each guaranteed 3 group matches.
Estimated group stage finish @ 5pm (4 players eliminated)
Top 2 from each group and two best 3rd place finishes** all advance to the Quarter finals.
8 players to play Quarter finals, race to 4 - estimated finish time @ 6:30pm
4 players to play Semi’s, Final and 3rd place play off.
Estimated finish time @ 8pm - 9pm*
*with option to increase frame count for semi’s and or final.
**3rd place finishes will be determined through points, frame difference and then clearances.
