RULE CHANGES FOR THE 2014-15 SEASON AS RATIFIED AT THE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY 15/10/14
THE BREAK: THE BREAKING PLAYER MUST PLAY THE CUE BALL FROM THE “D” DIRECTLY AT THE RACKED OBJECT BALLS. 2 OR MORE OBJECT BALLS MUST PASS THE MIDDLE POCKETS OR A BALL MUST BE POTTED, FAILURE TO DO EITHER WILL BE A FOUL AND 2 SHOTS TO THE ONCOMING PLAYER CUE BALL IN HAND TO BE PLACED ANYWHERE IN THE “D”
DECIDING GROUP IN PLAY: BALL OR BALLS POTTED OFF THE BREAK ARE DISREGARDED AS DECIDING GROUP IN PLAY. PLAY CONTINUES UNTIL THE NEXT LEGAL POT NO NEED TO NOMINATE. IF HOWEVER 1 OR MORE BALLS OF EACH GROUP ARE POTTED THE PLAYER MUST THEN NOMINATE CHOSEN GROUP, THE REFEREE SHOULD PROMPT THE PLAYER TO NOMINATE. FOLLOWING A FOUL BEFORE GROUPS ARE DECIDED IF A FREE TABLE THE PLAYER MUST STILL NOMINATE ON 2ND SHOT OF FIRST VISIT AS BEFORE.
BONUS POINTS: BONUS POINTS FOR TOTAL CLEARANCE ARE AVAILABLE TO THE BREAKING PLAYER AND THE ONCOMING PLAYER IF THEY POCKET ALL THEIR GROUP AND THE BLACK IN 1 VISIT. FOLLOWING A FOUL THE ONCOMING PLAYER MUST POCKET ALL THEIR GROUP PLUS THE BLACK IN 1 VISIT TO QUALIFY FOR BREAK BONUS.
11.30 FINISH: THIS WAS AMENDED TO NO FRAMES TO BE COMMENCED AFTER 11.30. HOWEVER IT IS HOPED THAT COMMON SENSE WILL BE APPLIED AND GAMES WILL BE COMPLETED BEFORE 11.30.
RE RACKED FRAMES: THE 15 MINUTE RE RACKED FRAMES RULE WAS SCRAPPED
ALL DOUBLES GAMES NEXT SEASON WILL BE SCOTCH PAIRS FORMAT
PLAYERS ALTERNATE SHOTS EVERY SHOT DURING THEIR VISIT AND TAKE IT IN TURNS TO BREAK IF KNOCKOUT PAIRS GAMES
CHANGES TO RESULT PROCEDURES FOR 2014-15 SEASON
Phill Gamble will take on the role of results secretary.
Result cards should be photographed and posted on the Facebook group page or emailed to Phill at firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to Phills address which will be on the back of the new Result cards.
Cards will no longer be collected from Newbold Verdon Sports and Social Club or Ibstock Central Social Club
Week 19 tables and averages updated.
The One Minute Conferring Rule...
There seems to be a bit of confusion about the new rule in the pairs, to clear it up...
Pairs are only allowed to confer for one minute on their visit to the table. The referee can time this, and must inform the pair that their one minute is over, the pair must then stop conferring and the player must continue with his/her visit. Like before there is no conferring between shots on each visit.The referee does not need to time every shot, just the conferring.

Update 15.09.11 - Website updated for the start of the new season!
The new season starts next Thursday 22.09.11, the website has been updated with information for the coming season!
Update 18.05.11 - Reminder to captains regarding match cards - singles averages.
Can all captains in Division 2 & 3 please note the update below regarding names entered on the match cards.
Can you also ensure NO nicknames are entered on the cards, and that each name is clear and easily understood, thank you!
Update 30.04.11 - Reminder to captains regarding match cards - singles averages.
Can all captains please ensure the players that share the same surname and first intial of their forenames, have the full name of the player on the scorecard.
Any match cards recieved without this information will result in the player(s) games being void and will not count towards the singles averagescompetition.
